Salmon Trips
You will notice on the table above that groups of 2 or 3 cost more per person than a group of 4 to 6. A charter fishing trip that accommodates a smaller number of guests will cost more per person because the cost of the trip is divided among fewer people. This means that each individual guest will pay a larger share of the total cost. Additionally, a private charter means that the Captain will be solely dedicated to the needs of the individual guests.
Halibut Trips
Halibut trips are more expensive than salmon trips primarily due to the cost of the charter halibut permit. A special permit is required to fish for halibut, and these permits are quite expensive ($185k for a permit). The cost of the permit must be factored into the overall cost of the trip, which can make it more expensive than fishing for salmon.
Halibut are generally larger and more powerful than salmon, which can make them more challenging to catch. This can require the use of specialized equipment and techniques, which can add to the overall cost of the trip.

Combo Trips
The cost of a 6 hour combo trip is the same as the halibut trips.
All-Day Trips
An all-day salmon and halibut fishing trip may cost more than a shorter trip for several reasons. An all-day trip will typically require the boat to travel further out to sea to reach the best fishing grounds, which can use more fuel and increase the cost of the trip.
An all-day trip may provide the opportunity to catch a wider variety of fish, such as ling cod and rockfish.
