Meet the Captains
Axel Conrad Svenson IVThe man, the myth, the legend. Axel Svenson was born and raised fishing in Ketchikan, Alaska. Since the age of 3, you could find Axel hanging around the docks of the Knudson Cove Marina and Clover Pass Marina. At 12, Axel and his friends caught a monster 160lb plus halibut off the dock. This amazing feat was quickly noticed and headlined local news. His fishing career just went up from there. For the past 12 years, Axel has been taking tourists fishing from all around the globe with tremendous success. Are you next?
The Svenson Family arrived in Ketchikan during World War II from the Aleutians Islands. (The Aleuts were relocated by the federal government when the Japanese occupied the Aleutians). The Svensons are true locals who have been making a living as fishers; seining, gill netting, and chartering in Ketchikan for years. |
Captain Leif Martin Svenson
Leif Svenson was born and raised in Ketchikan. At the age of 4 years old he landed a 39 pound king salmon! The fish was literally bigger than him at the time. Leif is an avid fisherman and will stop at nothing to find the fish!
When Leif was 13 years old he was sent to an island where he was forced to live off the land and scavenge the beach for tasty morsels. When he finally reemerged, he was so huge we literally needed a bigger door. Leif enjoys wrestling with sealions, racing bears up trees and long walks on the beach. |
Captain Conner Tusnadi Vacca
Conner Vacca was born in Seattle, Washington and is a graduate of Gonzaga University. Conner grew up salmon fishing, crabbing, and wakeboarding on Hood Canal near Puget Sound. He wasn’t much back then, but over time the ocean began to pump through his blood and he became the fisherman he is today. His claims to fame include catching 60 fish in an hour at the age of 8, battling a dog shark in a kayak (it was towing him!), and landing a 32 pound king salmon just this last summer.
Conner is very committed to charter fishing, and loves spending time on the boat. His other passions include surfing, snowboarding, hiking, and spending time outside. Alaska is like a second home, and he enjoys making lifelong memories on trips with people from all over the world. Bring on summer, it’s time to catch some fish! |
