Charter Fishing in Ketchikan, Alaska
Svenson Sportfishing is locally owned and operated out of Clover Pass Marina and Resort. Ketchikan, Alaska provides waters for some of the best fishing in the world. Pair great fishing with a great captain and you get one incredible adventure.
The sea vessels at Svenson Sportfishing accommodate all passengers from beginners to experts.
Clover Pass is known for having phenomenal salmon and halibut fishing. We don't fish in the city because this is a real fishing experience! The Marina is a 20-minute shuttle ride (we provide) from your ship.
We keep our boat and gear in excellent condition. All maintenance is done regularly. A clean boat is a essential as well. We also participate in annual US Coast Guard Inspections.
Booking online directly through Svenson Sportfishing can save you hundreds of dollars. When you purchase a charter while on a cruise ship, the cruise line sells them at a mark up. Booking online eliminates the cruise ship mark up.
Transportation Shuttle Service
We provide a shuttle that can pick you up from your location. Our fishing charter provides a convenient transportation solution for all our guests. Unlike some other charters in the area, we understand the importance of a reliable and timely shuttle service. Especially if you're on a tight deadline to catch your cruise ship. Cabs can be unpredictable, costly, and add unnecessary stress to your fishing trip. With our shuttle service, you can relax and enjoy the scenic ride to the fishing grounds, knowing that you'll get there on time and in comfort. Our experienced and friendly driver will pick you up from your hotel, or any other location of your choice, and take you directly to the fishing charter.
When the day is done, we'll be there to take you back to your hotel or cruise ship port.
We understand that time is precious, and that's why we strive to make your fishing experience as convenient and stress-free as possible. Our shuttle service is just one of the many ways we show our commitment to providing the best fishing experience possible.
Upon completion of your charter, Clover Pass Lodge will process your catch and ship it to your front door on the day you specify! Your catch will be iced on the boat from the time it is caught until it is filleted, vacuumed sealed, frozen and boxed. Clover Pass is top-notch, respectable and will get the job done. The processing of your catch is available dockside.
Shipping is standard overnight FedEx, Monday through Thursday. Processing rates run around $2.60 per pound.
Just fish and enjoy your catch when you get home.
Accommodating Large Parties
If you are traveling in groups larger than average because of a big family, company retreat or you just have a lot of friends, we have you covered. We ourselves have 3 boats and can accommodate up to 18 guests at a time. However, if the group is larger we can work with other companies to make it happen. Over the past years we have made strong ties with the best charter boat captains in the area. We will coordinate with other excellent captains in Ketchikan to make sure your dream trip is a success.
We also have lodging connections, so feel free to contact us if you have a larger group or need lodging suggestions.
Sightseeing and Fishing
During your fishing excursion, wildlife will amaze you. Guests get to fish while enjoying the beauty of Southeast Alaska and all of its animals which include orcas, porpoises, eagles and humpback whales! It is common to see these amazing creatures near our area. You can watch eagles move from nest to nest and even occasionally stealing your catch! Humpback whales are typically bubble net feeding or just showing off. Killer whales and porpoises usually speed around at their own pleasure. This is the cherry on top that can add to your fishing adventure. We are a fishing company, but sightseeing is an added bonus.
When The Fish Run
We Take This Opportunity Seriously
Ketchikan is home to all five types of salmon: King, Silver, Pink, Chum and Sockeye. After all, Ketchikan is known as the Salmon Capital of the World.
Ketchikan is the Salmon Capital of the World, but the area also has an abundance of halibut. Halibut are generally much bigger than salmon and very good eating.
